Our vision

We want to rid grad recruitment of inequality and make hiring about skills and talent.

We don't have to tell you that the UK tech sector is booming. Tax relief has stimulated growth amongst tech companies and digitisation of the wider economy has dramatically increased demand for digital services and workers. We're talking 3.3 million jobs by 2022.

Despite this growth, candidate retention is poor, and job satisfaction is low. Too many candidates are leaving roles within the first 6 months, especially the younger candidates. Research by UUK shows 1 in 3 graduates are mismatched to the jobs they find after leaving University. “There is little evidence that graduates are studying the “wrong” subjects, as they have transferable skills that are in demand. Instead, students need better careers advice focusing on their skills and attributes – and understanding how these match different career options.”

We believe traditional graduate recruitment is in need of a helping hand.

DigitalGrads mission is to cultivate early-careers in tech and media to create a diverse group of future leaders. We’re a tech startup ourselves, founded to ensure young people who want to work in tech and media have access to the best career opportunities, education and roles.

Conventional recruitment for top talent can be a zero sum game when one company hires a high quality candidate, other firms miss out. DigitalGrads is improving the whole candidate pool that has historically been dominated by graduates from families that can afford the best quality education and the deferred financial benefit of unpaid or low paid internships.

We believe in passing on our good fortune.

The candidates we help at DigitalGrads are the tech leaders of the future. Plenty of other young people are not so fortunate. So for every candidate or business referral we receive at DigitalGrads we make a donation to 10 youth charities via the wonderful Work-for-Good platform.

Our journey so far.

Founded in 2018, DigitalGrads started with the aim of helping young people gain practical digital skills so that they could make a contribution to a company from day one. Our business model has changed from a pay-on-hire recruitment model to an unlimited subscription model, but our strong ethics and dedication to this cause has stuck firm.

It's very easy to say, but we truly care about making a difference to people's lives and we're not just another recruitment platform making matches for commercial ends. We have built and continue to develop our training platform for young people who want to improve, and the unlimited subscription means we can spend our time and energy improving candidates whilst employers use the platform to self-serve.

We care about improving the chances young people have and we invest our profits into creating more training and building a superior career development product.

Education

Education is at the heart of what we do.

We believe that if you are good at what you do, you will enjoy it, and if you enjoy it, you will want to learn more. The more you learn, the greater contribution you will make.

It all starts and is driven by good education.

Equality

DigitalGrads is a non-elitist platform.

Historically access to the best jobs has been dominated by graduates from families that can afford the best quality education and the deferred financial benefit of unpaid internships.
